Kia orana, my name is Alison, and I am the Wahine Coach for TAZ (Team Arizona Outrigger). I am looking for a seat for one of our phenomenal paddlers, Hedy Downing, in either the V6 Iron 12km Master Women (60, 50, or 40) or the V6 Iron 12km Open or Mixed race. Out of the 14 women we are bringing over to compete, Hedy is our "Golden Wahine"—she is eligible to paddle across all women's age divisions, making her an incredible, versatile option for any crew looking to fill a seat! Hedy is a deeply seasoned paddler who lived and raced in Hawaii before basing herself in Arizona. She has extensive international racing experience, having competed in major events like the Takapuna Cup in New Zealand and Motu2Motu in Aitutaki. She is in fantastic competitive form right now, having qualified to represent Team USA at the upcoming World Sprints in Singapore. Hedy knows how to work hard and thrives under pressure. Just three months ago, when their Team USA crew's steersperson became unavailable, Hedy stepped up to learn how to steer a V6. She mastered the skill quickly and with confidence, proving she is always up for a challenge and can sit wherever needed to best support your canoe.
